The dies irae represents death, and the depths is the place where you are closest to death, so it makes sense for it to have the dies irae be more prominent in its soundtrack.

You can't help but watch his eyes with an anger you'd forgotten you had. The Duke smiles, the green lighting of the tubes and poor yellow lights on the ceiling light his face up just enough to see who he truly is. "You'll be a fine addition to the Forge," he said as you heard the sound of your own neck cracking, and your soul screaming for air as you found yourself being drowned and dragged to the Depths.

This is by far my favourite ost of the soundtrack, the slow and sombre buildup of the song (especially when the flute starts playing) is SO well made i genuinley had chills when i first heard it, and was my first interaction with deepwoken 😭 (i bought the game and safe to say im enjoying it a lot)
